On the night we were in León, the celebration was concentrated in the center of town set against the lit Leon Cathedral, in the midst of a Christmas market. A nativity scene competition flanked all sides of the street. The bustle and activity made it feel like a scene out of a spy movie,
As I lie here in a hammock near the beach, listening to the ocean, reflecting on the trip so far I am reminded of the Jimmy Buffet song. Even the worst days on two wheels in paradise are better then any other day elsewhere
Leaving out of Maggie's Lower Dover Field Station yesterday, from the heart of the Belizean jungle, Hans and Franz carried us at 4500 thumps per hour toward the Guatemalan border. Though I didn't voice it to TJ, I was nervous.
"Overlanding is self-reliant overland travel to remote destinations where the journey is the principal goal" (Wikipedia). We would be considered overlanders, in the states we just call it adventure motorcycling. However, next to these four seasoned veterans we were amateurs.
